Delete your account

You can erase your Eco Kitchen account and everything in it. There are two ways: one takes a few seconds, the other is for when the app is already gone from your phone.

If you still have the app

Open Profile → Settings → Delete account and confirm. It happens straight away. This is the fastest way and needs nobody's help.

If you have removed the app

E-mail serfonteinnardus@gmail.com from the address you signed in with, with the subject Delete my Eco Kitchen account.

Sending it from the same address is how we know it is you — we will not delete an account on someone else's say-so. If you cannot use that address any more, say so and we will find another way to check.

What gets deleted

• Your account: e-mail address, name and profile picture, and which service you signed in with.
• Everything in your own kitchen: your food, its dates, quantities and history.
• Your shopping lists and their items.
• Your actions, points, streak and badges.
• Your membership of every shared space, and any invitations you created.

What does not disappear, and why

• Food and lists in a space you shared with other people. Those belong to the space, and the others are still using them. Your name comes off; the milk stays on the list. To take your own space with you, delete it in the app first.
• Server backups, for up to fourteen days. Backups are overwritten on a rolling fourteen-night cycle, so a deleted account is gone from those within two weeks.
• A cost record of AI scans — which model ran, how long it took and what it cost — with your identifier removed, because it is what keeps the service affordable. It contains no photograph and nothing about what was in one.
• Purchases are records held by Google Play or Apple, not by us. Cancel a subscription in the store, not here: deleting the account does not cancel it.

If you would rather keep a copy

Before deleting, the app can write everything out to a file: Profile → Settings → Export my data. Deletion cannot be undone, so if there is any doubt, export first.
